Cacao Paste is also known as cacao liquor, cacao or cocoa mass. Cacao Paste is produced by grinding the Cacao Nibs to a smooth liquid state, hence the name 'liquor', however no alcohol is present. Once solidified it becomes a 100% pure food ingredient that can be combined with Cacao Powder, Cacao Butter and a sweetener of your choice such as Agave Syrup.
Our cacao is grown in its original habitat using sustainable farming practices and promoting favorable living conditions for farmers and their families. This cacao is cultivated in its natural habitat in the Amazon region of Peru. Single origin Criollo variety cacao that can be used in contemporary cacao ceremonies.

We've searched high & low for ceremonial cacao with an edge, with a different type of energy, something special... Then we found Maretai, and man were we impressed. First off I was a little surprised when I opened my package to find a solid 5kg block of cacao, I'm not sure why but I thought it was going to arrive as five 1kg blocks. I'm not complaining tho! It is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen, and it made for some funny pics. I have been using cacao grown and processed in Bali, and comparing the two different strains I would say this produces a deeper meditative state. The flavour is a little more bitter than I am used to, but I have grown to love it. The finish is a warm rounded flavour that works incredibly well with the spice mixture I use. All in all I am so incredibly grateful I found this supplier. I am here to stay for as long as they are operating. Muchismo gracias and arohanui xx

as soon as i opened it, the whole house started smelling of chocolate. beautiful quality, rich and freshly made, not old and hard. easy to break apart and process/grind. will definitely be ordering again :)

Divine Indulgence
